Raef Lawson, Ph.D., CMA, CPA, CFA, AICWA is vice president of research, professor-in-residence, and editor of the IMA Educational Case Journal. He also serves as staff liaison to the IMA’s Foundation for Applied Research (FAR) Committee.

Dr. Lawson has written extensively in the areas of management accounting practices in China, scorecards, activity based costing, and cost management.  He was the principal investigator for IMA’s China Costing Study. His work has been published in a variety of publications including the Accounting Review, Cost Management, CMA Management, and the CPA Journal. He is a coauthor of the recently published book, Scorecard Best Practices: Design, Implementation and Evaluation.
